About Freedom House Thrift in Greensboro

It’s More Than a Thrift Store. It’s a Lifeline.

Every piece of clothing. Every donated couch. Every hour served. It all fuels a Christ-centered recovery journey for mothers and children who are ready to rebuild their lives.

Our Mission

Freedom House Thrift exist to fund and support Freedom House, one of the only long-term, Christ-centered programs in the nation that allows mothers and their children to recover together under one roof. By transforming gently used donations into affordable items for our community, we generate sustainable revenue for addiction recovery and offer meaningful work experience for women healing from substance use.

Our Story

Freedom House Thrift began in 2006 with a simple mission: offer hope to families broken by addiction. What started as one storefront has grown into a multi-location operation that fuels one of the only Christ-centered programs in the U.S. that keeps moms and kids together throughout recovery.

Our thrift stores aren’t just retail spaces. They are bridges to restoration, funding life-saving care and empowering the very women we serve with on-the-job training, confidence, and purpose. When you shop here, you’re not just getting a deal. You’re giving someone a future.
